2nd edition of the Climate Risk and Vulnerability handbook

The 2nd edition of the Climate Risk and Vulnerability handbook was launched on 5 October 2017 at the CSIR 6th Biennial Conference in Pretoria. The handbook presents the latest available scientific knowledge on the nature of climate change and its implications for the region, and launches a series of re-definitions, concepts and programmes for addressing climate change. The handbook presents a simplified understanding of climate risks, vulnerability to climate change and actions to cope with climate change. Keys sectors selected to illustrate best practices in assessing vulnerability include agriculture and livestock, commercial forestry, terrestrial ecosystems and biodiversity, water resources, the coastal zone, settlements, human health, energy and air quality. This handbook serves as an important guide for climate and development practitioners, students and policymakers.
