To maintain electrical equipment in order to minimize plant downtime


  • Complete plant walkabouts and report any findings to relevant foreman
  • Attend to and repair all electrical breakdowns mill wide
  • Trace electrical faults, replace and rewire burnt components and panels
  • Fault Find on PLC's and VSD's as well as changing out of VSD's
  • Install and test new electrical installations as per foreman instruction
  • Modify existing plant as required whilst ensuring drawings are kept up to date
  • Complete maintenance work as per SAP work order sheet
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures whilst maintaining high levels of housekeeping
  • Complete standby as per standby roster

  • Fault Finding
  • Preventative and predictive maintenance techniques
  • Self-starter
  • Work with minimal supervision

  • NQF level 4 qualification (Grade 12, N3) with mathematics and science
  • Coupled with a recognised trade test
  • 4 years relevant experience within a heavy industry environment
  • Candidates who have completed a Sappi apprenticeship or ECP programme will be considered.
