Is cable yarder operator performance improved through controlled training?

New research has quantified the performance benefits that can be achieved. Training of new cable yarding operators under normal working conditions carries safety, productivity and equipment failure risks. Being able to use a test machine to train operators under more controlled conditions could help overcome some of these risks. read more
Ponsse releases their new eucalypt harvesting head

The H77euca was launched at Expoforest 2014 in Brazil. As the model name indicates, the new head is designed to operate in Eucalyptus plantations. Harvester heads that operate in eucalypts need to be robust to handle the high hydraulic pressures required for debarking and the high impact nature of delimbing. read more
CBI produces a large new root rake for biomass harvesting

The new RR30 root rake is designed for tough conditions. CBI indicates that the root rake "grubs, pulls, backfills, rakes and loads"! Judging by the size and robust design, it does appear as though this attachment will handle any conditions thrown at it. read more
