Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for appointment to the following positions, all reporting to the Forest Manager, which are available in the Forest department at Usutu Forest Products Company Limited

Silviculture Manager

Key Performance Areas

  • Develop and manage budgets
  • Develop annual plan of operation
  • Manage 30 000 hectares of wattle, gum and pine plantations
  • Managing silviculture contractors, own ops and own staff in terms of productivity and quality.
  • Determine infield and man day rates
  • Participating in fire duty activities
  • Risk assessment.
  • Management of Inter disciplinary relations.

Qualifications and Skills

  • B-Tech or Diploma in Forestry
  • 10 years senior management working experience that includes gum, wattle and pine
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in forestry and a management style that encourages positive  interpersonal relationships with team, contractors and external stakeholders
  • Innovative approach, creative and constatntly seek continuous improvement
  • High level of honesty and integrity
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft applications (MS Word and Excel) and Micro forest knowledge
  • Self-driven and results oriented
  • Knowledge of FSC principles
  • Valid driver's licence
