To plan, co-ordinate and execute road deliveries from own plantation sources as well as ensure optimal utilization of loading and transport equipment, to supply timber to the respective markets as per mill demand.



  • Ensure that Contractor operations are optimized to ensure transport efficiencies and reduce downtime.
  • Inspect new and existing depots to determine suitability for Contractor.
  • Operational planning for Contractor dispatching trucks and loaders on a daily basis.
  • Assist Foresters with operational planning to ensure activities are streamlined.
  • Inspect Contractors trucks and loaders regularly to ensure compliance to Sappi RMS.
  • Inspect roads where issues are detected and advise on requirements to Forestry staff.
  • Enforce respective mill quality specifications through depot and woodyard inspections.
  • Conduct regular inspections on Contractor loading points for compliance.
  • Distribute daily sales plan based on Depot Stocks/Mill Demand/Orders.
  • Verify delivery notes against small market sales in TCS (Timber Control System).
  • Management of Contractor uptime reports and loading tons (weekly).
  • Calculate Contractor route standards for trips (including backhaul information).
  • Verify depot to market leads with GIS/Contractors.
  • Verify uptime variance claims from Contractor for monthly uptime reports (weekly).

  • Grade 12/Matric and studying towards a Transport related qualification\
  • National Diploma in Transport or Forestry will be advantageous
  • Up to 5 years relevant experience
  • Valid Code EB driver's license
  • Computer Literacy
