Foreword
Willem de Villiers; forester extraordinaire, friend and mentor

"Eureka! Eureka, uiteindelik het ek dit gevind. Ja ‘n boek, nie sommer so ‘n boek nie, ‘n boek oor iets wat baie naby aan my hart lê.

Foreword translated into English
Eureka! Eureka, finally I have found it. Yes a book, not just any book, a book that lies very close to my heart. A book about the life of a Forester. I searched my whole life for such a book and HERE IT IS.

This book cannot be classified as just a novel or a spy-thriller story; it is a pleasant reading book with the aim of also informing the manager in management. There are so many lessons to be found by people in any work situation. The authors are not ‘just such' people; they are men who have walked through the bed of coals. Men who have had the hard knocks.

So many incidents are described that it would be wrong to highlight any one, but the reader should examine himself as he reads through the books. Remember, no one knows everything, and now you can lean back in your easy-chair, relax and joyfully read and add to your knowledge. Thank you very much to you two for sticking your heads out and tackling such an immense task, which can only be a success.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH THAT I COULD CONTRIBUTE TO THE BIG TASK OF YOUR LIVES. GREETINGS, ‘THE OLD FOSSIL' ".
