Niassa GreenPly Lda (NGP)

NGP incorporated in 2020 was established as the vehicle to provide vertical integration to the Green Resources plantation asset in Mozambique.

Our plantations, managed under our sister company Green Resources Niassa (GRN) comprises 14000 hectares planted, approximately 50% each Pine and Eucalyptus in the area’s surrounding Lichinga, Niassa Province.

80% of this area is Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC^TM) certified, certificate number SGS-FM/COC-009040, with the aim of achieving 100% certification in the later part of 2022. Current total annual sustainable output is 120 000m3 and this increases at an average of 6% year on year.

Our goal is to provide manufacturing solutions that provide optimal financial return from fully utilizing plantation material available. To this end, for our Eucalyptus plantation material we have wood preservative treating plants that focus on supplying poles for electrification projects in northern Mozambique and the East/Central African region, and can provide both CCA and Creosote treated poles. To utilize the larger diameter logs and material that does not comply to straightness requirement for poles, we have constructed a veneer peeler plant which produces high quality veneer for Plywood production.

Our pine plantation material is harvested and prepared into optimised saw-logs for supply to a third party sawmill in close proximity to our industrial site.

With the support of our shareholder’s we have been able to rationalise and execute compliant projects quickly and effectively.

NGP is licensed to export and import goods and services, and is registered with the Investment and Export Promotion Agency APIEX (Agencia-para-a-Promocao-de-Investimento-e-Exportacoes)
