The need to foster and maintain a culture of compliance in
these fast-moving and uncertain times has never been so important. Rather than
an exercise in enforcement, Arxada, a global leader in wood treatment
technologies, views regulatory compliance as an opportunity to create an
environment in which staff can shine and contribute towards the long-term
success of the
company.
In the same line of thinking, the Arxada Global Quality team adopted
the ComplianceWire®️ online training platform in
2020 to further improve its training data systems and controls. In April 2021,
Arxada's Wood Protection business division in South Africa followed suit and incorporated
ComplianceWire®️ into the company's Independent Development Programme.
"Introducing compliance training that promotes individual
accountability across all sectors of our business makes regulation more than a
necessary evil, instead, it is a vehicle through which our staff can excel. With
ComplianceWire®️ we have a reporting system that ensures our company meets
regulatory requirements while providing opportunities for employee development,"
said JJ du Plessis, the senior regional sales manager at Arxada, trading as
Arch Wood Protection South Africa.
To date the learning portal has proved to be a valuable tool
for training onsite staff in the ISO procedures, which are developed in line with
the ISO 9001:2015 specification requirements.
It has also been beneficial for the training of production
staff who are exposed to the manufacturing environment where high levels of
safety and awareness is constantly required.
"By utilising the most advanced training platforms in our
business, our staff understand the role they play - individually and
collectively - not just in meeting their compliance responsibilities, but in retaining
the organisation's good standing within the industry. The more we embed ethical
values into our business behaviour, the less the likelihood of an unforeseen
lapse or accident," concludes du Plessis.
