INVITATION: New Generation Plantations Annual Summit
Cape Town, South Africa - 18 & 19 June
has great pleasure in inviting you to participate in the New Generation
Plantations (NGP) 2014 Annual Summit. The Summit will take place on
June 18th and 19th at the Vineyard Hotel (www.vineyard.co.za) in Cape Town, and will be co-hosted by WWF and Mondi. Additional details can be found in the attached Concept Note and Programme.
NGP Platform was initiated in 2007 as a mechanism for sharing lessons
and best practices around responsible forestry plantation management
across the world. More recently, the NGP participants have begun to
explore how the principles of responsible plantations management can be
shared across multiple land use sectors and their respective value
chains in a given landscape, with the aim of securing multiple
environmental and social benefits at the landscape scale.
2014 NGP Annual Summit will therefore focus on bringing together
international and South African representatives from the forestry,
agriculture and related land use sectors and value chains, with a view
to discuss lessons and best practices around two important challenges:
social issues and land use management. More specifically, the NGP
learning platform will seek to learn from these different sectors and
value chains, and to improve how we can communicate what we've learnt in
a more compelling way.
Please confirm your attendance by completing the attached Registration Form and emailing it to Kathryn Wells at NGPAnnualSummit@mondigroup.co.za by 15 May 2014. Final arrangements will be emailed towards the end of May 2014.
