Invitation to Workshop on New Generation Plantations Platform for Responsible Plantation Forestry in South Africa and Africa

WWF-SA and Mondi invite you to a South African Forestry Stakeholders Workshop on the New Generation Plantation Platform (Africa Region) for Responsible Plantation Forestry. The details are as follows:

Date: Mon 13 May 2013
Time: 13h00 - 18h30 (Programme attached)

Workshop Focus: The focus will be on the NGP concept, within the framework of the Key Theme: "Responsible Plantations as a catalyst for environmental and social good? Challenges and Opportunities". The focus will be on how the experiences in South Africa may apply to plantations development and management in Africa, and how experiences from initiatives in and related to Africa may apply to plantation forestry in South Africa. Forestry Stakeholders invited include Forestry South Africa (Industry association); small, medium and large growers; government; FSC representatives and associated stakeholders; NGP participants; and other related stakeholders
