New Disease of Black Wattle

Earlier this year a new disease of Acacia mearnsii (black wattle) was reported to the TPCP by farmers in the KZN Midlands.  This disease causes significant damage to trees and work is underway, by the TPCP, ICFR and NCT to find solutions for the management of the problem.

We, however, need as much information as possible on the distribution and impact of the disease and would appreciate all of your help.   If you think you have the disease on your farm, in your plantations, please contact myself or our diagnostic clinic.

Attached is a PDF with photos of the disease : Disease Alert Wattle Rust
