New Forestry Minimum Wage w.e.f. 1st April 2015

In terms of the current Sectoral Determination for the Forestry, with effect from 1st April 2014 the forestry minimum wage became 100% that of the agricultural minimum wage. As the new agricultural minimum wage (w.e.f. 1st March 2015) has been Gazetted (see attached), the new Forestry minimum wage with effect 1st April will be R2 606.78 per month.

This is based on the inflation rate for the lowest quintile published in November 2014 (6.2%) plus 1.5% = increase of 7.7% or R186.37 per month from the current minimum wage of R2 420.41 per month.
