3rd FORESTRY INDUSTRY TRAINING INDABA

Forestry Contractors and Timber Growers

South African Forestry Contractors Association and Forestry Industry Training Providers Association have the pleasure of inviting you to the 3rd Forestry Industry Training Indaba.

The conference objectives targeted for 2012 amongst others are:

  • To identify the skills needs, critical and scarce skills of the Forestry Sector
  • Raise awareness of the Accreditation policy of the FPM SETA for new and emerging training providers
  • Understand and review the Organising Framework of Occupations Version in relation to the forestry occupations
  • Assistance and development efforts for FITPA members
  • What should Forestry Industry know about the training and development interventions and initiatives and the opportunities to partner with DAFF
  • Progress on the implementation of the Supervisory Course for Harvester Operator Supervisors (Discretionary grant funding from FPM SETA)
  • Status of Higher Education in Forestry
  • Forestry and the measurement of the objectives of the BBBEE Forestry Charter
  • Update on Implementation and Assessment of Impact of the SDP (Managers, Learners, Providers perspective)
  • The need for a "level 3" supervisor development programme
