REMINDER: Invitation to ICFR Occasional Seminar: DST initiatives and their links to Forestry and Forestry Research
is a reminder of our special upcoming Occasional Seminar, given by
colleagues from the Department of Science and Technology (DST) - on
DST's support and contributions to Forestry Research.
is an exciting and very useful opportunity for all working in forestry
research and the management and application thereof, to engage with the
DST, to learn more about current initiatives, that can provide significant benefits to the forest sector.

The Seminar will be divided into two presentations, each with time for questions and discussion.
1. Overview of the Bioeconomy Strategy
By Dr Maneshree Jugmohan-Naidu, Director: Biotechnology, DST
presentation will provide insight on the science-based Bio-economy
Strategy, approved by Cabinet in November last year, which positions
bio-innovation as essential to the achievement of government's
industrial and social development goals. The

and academia to cooperate closely to ensure that biotechnology and

support - both from the Technology Innovation and the Socio-Economic
