"Tree improvement in Eucalyptus nitens - what have we learnt?"

By Dr Tammy Swain, ICFR

Dr Swain is a recognised leader in the area of research into breeding of South Africa's cold tolerant eucalyptus species, and her work in tree improvement research of Eucalyptus nitens has been ongoing for a number of years.

This seminar will highlight Dr Swain's research through her recently awarded Phd study, into predicted and realised genetic gains and associated genetic parameters, the impact of these genetic parameters, as well as flowering and seed orchard factors, culminating in recommendations for further advanced generation breeding of the species.

We will send out more specific details on the remaining talks nearer the time.

For catering purposes, please RSVP to Sally
sally.upfold@icfr.ukzn.ac.za if you wish to attend.

All are welcome, please join us for these events, and pass this information on to any of your colleagues who may be interested in attending.
