Port Shepstone, South Africa, 30 November 2023 – In the rural community of Bethania in KwaZulu-Natal, a heartfelt initiative has over the past 16 years evolved into a cherished tradition. Initiated by the South Africa Wood Protection division of Arxada, the graduation ceremony and Christmas party has been instrumental in bringing joy and instilling a sense of accomplishment in the lives of preschoolers attending the Vulingqondo Crèche. It is also a highlight of the year for the staff and management at Arxada, who devote weeks of planning, party shopping, and gift wrapping to make the occasion unforgettable for both the learners and teachers.
Celebrating Young Achievers
Dressed in their miniature gowns and hats, this year’s pre-school graduates held their heads high as they celebrated their first education milestone at the Graduation Ceremony held on the 23rd of November. It was a momentous occasion not only for the children, but also for the teachers and parents, who witnessed their little scholars taking their first steps towards future success.

A Boost Of Positivity And Joy
After the graduation ceremony, the much anticipated Christmas party added an extra layer of excitement to the festivities. Christmas decorations, fun activities and delicious treats created a joyous atmosphere – but it was the arrival of Father Christmas and his bag of gifts that filled the air with shrieks of laughter and the sound of excited children’s chatter.
JJ du Plessis, Senior Regional Sales Manager at Arxada South Africa, said, This tradition ends the year with a much-needed boost of positivity and joy, and a festive experience that they will remember for years to come. Every child deserves a magical Christmas, and we feel privileged to play a part in making that happen each year.”
Enduring Support
Arxada’s commitment to the Vulingqondo Créche began in 2007 when the company took the Crèche under its wing. Over the years, the staff and management have helped transform this basic rural establishment into a flourishing school, which now stands as the cornerstone of education and support for the Bethania community.
