Dolphin Bay Chemicals is a leading supplier of wood preservatives in southern Africa, providing treatments for the sawn timber and poles used in construction, commerce and agriculture.

The company owns two of the three factories in Africa producing wood preservatives, making it the largest producer of the products on the continent.

Dolphin Bay offers warranties on its treatments and a wide range of value-added services to clients. These services include plant optimisation, operator training, health and safety audits, waste removal, and installation and commissioning of timber treatment plants, to name a few.

Dolphin Bay has been on a strong growth trajectory ever since its establishment in 1996, due to its strong focus on customer service and satisfaction, prompt deliveries, and product guarantees.

The company has factories in Mossel Bay and Sabie, where the major growth in the wood treatment industry is located due to the high number of pole treaters in the area. It has also successfully expanded into the engineering sector.

Dolphin Bay offers the following wood preservatives:

Water-borne products
Permacure CCA – Protects against wood-destroying fungi, insect larvae and termites. This product is used in pressure impregnation treatment plants

Permacure ACQ – A new generation wood preservative, ACQ protects against wood-destroying fungi, insect larvae and termites. It is used in pressure impregnation treatment plants.

Permabore Boron – This Borax and Boric Acid woodpreservative is a clear, water-based treatment. It can be applied by pressure impregnation or by dipping.

Solvent-based preservative
Permanol F (P-TBTN) – An industrial low organic solvent (LOSP) product, Permanol protects wood against wood-destroying fungi, insect larvae and termites.

Additives
Waterguard Wax – An emulsion giving timber water-repellent qualities.
