The Carbon Tax, which comes into effect on 1 June (and implemented along with fuel price changes on 5 June), was initially budgeted to have a 9 cents per litre impact on petrol prices and 10 cents per litre impact on diesel. However, both these charges have now been reduced by 2 cents per litre. Because of this, the general fuel levy will be increased by 2 cents per litre to ensure the initial values announced by government are unchanged. Please find attached hereto the necessary documentation.
Some good news is that the diesel refund increased from 322c/l to 333.6c/l (R3.34) on 80% of eligible purchase. The latest changes to fuel prices for June 2019, is yet to be publish by Department of Energy.
