The National Forestry Authority is set to invest 140 billion Shillings to establish 40,000 hectares of plantations by the private sector to boost the country’s forestry cover.
The Acting Executive Director of the National Forestry Authority, Paul Musamali, says it has set aside 200,000 hectares of land for alternative forest cover.
80,000 of these have been planted by the private sector and 13,000 by the NFA.
