Invitation to a workshop on compliance with new Methyl Bromide usage procedure in South Africa

The Department of Agriculture, Land reform & Rural development and Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the
Environment hereby invites all role players involved in the importation, distribution, and use of Methyl bromide
(Importers, distributors, fumigators, Freight Forwarding Agents) to the following workshop.

The purpose of the roadshow is to:

• Update stakeholders on discontinuation of Methyl Bromide in South Africa
• Update stakeholders on the country status regarding Phasing Down of Methyl bromide and phasing in of Alternatives
• Update stakeholders on current Compliance and Monitoring systems guiding the use of Methyl bromide
• To update stakeholders on current approved Methyl bromide usage categories approved for treatment with methyl bromide.
