New Pinnacle SA Automatic High Recovery Board Edger
Pinnacle SA, in conjunction with Festo Automation, is developing an all-new edger solution for long boards.
Because of the very high capital cost of optimising edgers and because of the complexity of running these machines, Pinnacle decided to retain the human factor but to make the workload on the edger man easy.
If his job is not physically hard, a good edger man will be very hard to beat with a machine/robot. The human eye is a very advanced piece of gear and reacts way faster than even Claude.
As can be seen in this animation, the edger man will be comfortably seated and have simple joystick controls to manipulate the board – position it, size it and skew it.
