NCT Forestry (NCT) announced its Tree Farmers awards at its AGM in July.
Zodwa Bhengu (Greytown) Gudrun & Rudolf Johannes (Vryheid) were recipients in the respective small-grower and commercial grower categories.
Candidates are nominated by NCT staff and are assessed against broad-sense sustainable plantation management principles. Winners in both categories are worthy recipients of this coveted award, initiated in 2002, and are commended for their forestry insight and business diversification to meet market demands.
The winners received a chainsaw sponsored by Stihl and PMB Power Products.
