In July 2020 the company Latschbacher has expanded its existing product range. Now, the international company offers you the opportunity to buy the proven tree protectors against game bite and buck rubs. The tree protectors do not only differ in colour but also in function.
Young trees, which are not protected through any measures are particularly high at risk of being eaten by wild animals. By attaching the short protector for strong terminal shoots on the conifers, the bud of the terminal shoot is protected from hungry wild animals. The short protectors are available in three colours (yellow, orange and blue). Additionally, the blue colour of the protectors has a deterring effect on game.
In order to protect the vulnerable ecosystem of your forest against harmful plastic, the Latschbacher company offers a bio-degradable short protector. This protector is dissolved by microorganisms when it is in direct contact with forest soil. This bio-degradable protector, intended for stable terminal shoots, is available in light blue.
When protecting saplings with weak terminal shoots, the long protector comes should be used. These are perfectly suited for your larchs, douglas firs and hardwood stock. The long plastic bars do not only protect the tree from game bite but also serve as solution against buck rubs from stags. Furthermore, this protector counteracts forked growth and is often used for Christmas tree plantations. The long protector is available in dark blue.
All types of protectors are attached to the tree in the same way. By latching the two ends with the snap-fastener, the protector is secured into place underneath the bud. That way the bud stays protected from game bite and can grow without any disturbance. For long-lasting protection, the tree protector has to be reopened and attached to the outgrown terminal shoot in the subsequent year.
