The compact 12-ton Logset 5F GT forwarder is the most sold Logset forwarder model in Finland, the Baltic countries and France. Its low own weight and high power make the machine suitable for thinning operations and smaller clear-felling operations. According to our customers the forwarder model is world class especially when it comes to felling operations on soft grounds. Now this favourite forwarder model has been renewed.
The updated machine model has a 4-cylinder AGCO Power 49 LFTN diesel engine according to the most recent Stage 5 emission regulations from EU. The new engine has approximately 20 horse powers more than the previous model with 140 kW instead of 127 kW.
The cooler is more efficient, and it cools down the hydraulics effectively. An electrically controlled visco clutch for the cooler fan is standard. Due to the changes the forwarder is more silent. Also, the new LFTN engine is easier to service. Hydraulic lash adjustment makes the valve clearance adjustment unnecessary, which reduces the time needed for interval services.
– All updates have been made as to feedback and development ideas from our customers and dealers. The 30 litre DEF tank is now made of plastic and can be found in the renewed front hatch on the right side. The tank has a big screw cap that makes refills easier without spills. This is only one example of the changes we have made to ease the everyday life of the operators, says Designer Mika Myllymäki.
The machine hydraulics have been developed and the crane is now provided with a Parker 220 crane valve. The forwarder is delivered with a Mesera 83 crane with integrated hoses as standard.
SMOOTH RIDE CABIN SUSPENSION NOW POSSIBLE
Customers have requested to have the Smooth Ride cabin suspension in the 5F GT forwarder, which is now possible. The cabin suspension was first introduced in the larger Logset forwarder models. It has become very popular since it considerably improves the operator ergonomics and the system is easy to maintain.
