Hosted by Howard Parry-Husbands, CEO of Pollinate, an independent market research agency, this unique and informative webinar presents the results of combining the findings of seven research projects over six years to provide a glimpse into the future trends affecting the use of wood and wood products.

By attending this webinar you will be among the first to know the insights and implications for our industry of this fascinating project.

In 2014 Forest and Wood Products Australia (FWPA) commissioned a research study into the attitudes and knowledge of designing and building professionals involved in the specification of building materials. Since then, three subsequent studies have used similar questionnaires to track any changes in awareness or behaviour.

The four main tracking studies were complemented by three individual research projects, addressing durability, cladding and decking.

Now, for the first time, the results of these projects have been combined to seek insights to inform the decision making of our industry.

Among the results identified by the new study are:

  • The events of the last year have changed the way specifiers select materials
  • For the first time since 2014 durability is no longer the most important decision making factor in material selection
  • 9 out of 10 specifiers support forestry and agree that wood is The Ultimate RenewableTM
  • Engineered wood products are set to experience the most growth over the next 12 months

“This is a rare opportunity to see a data-driven analysis of trends in the use of wood and wood products in the built environment,” said Eileen Newbury, Forest and Wood Products Australia (FWPA), National Marketing and Communications Manager and WoodSolutions National Program Manager, “I strongly encourage all industry members who are part of the construction industry supply chain to attend the webinar and take advantage of the insights they will discover.”
