Post: Wood-Mizer – for Sawmillers

Wood-Mizer's experience in Africa since 1987 has allowed sawmillers to prosper.

Experience

Our experience started when Wood-Mizer built the first portable sawmill in 1982, the innovation thén making it possible for sawmillers today to cut timber affordably, and with greater precision than even larger sawmills.

Wood-Mizer also introduced thin-kerf narrow bandsaw technology to the world – this making it possible for sawmillers to produce more sawn timber and waste less for more profits.

Since then, we’ve gone on to innovate and produce sawmilling technology that today is class-leading across several areas. Our equipment ranges now span sawmilling and manufacturing – truly from forest to final form.

Wood-Mizer’s sawmilling range provides solutions for first-time sawmillers through to industrial, high-production sawmilling environments. This gives a sawmiller the ability to build a business over time with the certainty of a skilled and experienced sawmilling partner that is there for you every step of the way.

Wood-Mizer is also the only sawmilling equipment manufacturer that produces its own range of narrow and wide bandsaw blades and blade maintenance equipment – matching sawmilling tech with optimal blading to cut timber in all climates, wherever you are.

Our range goes further with Wood-Mizer’s material handling solutions – you can move logs, sawn timber, and waste in the most efficient way in and out of the sawmill for more savings and bigger profits

Engineering
Our modern, state-of-the-art production facilities around the world lie at the heart of Wood-Mizer’s ability to design and build sawmilling solutions that suit the needs and production requirements of modern sawmillers globally.

Our ISO9001 accredited production plants using CNC-enable manufacturing platforms, laser-powered component shaping, and robotic welding facilities together with years of know-how, provides for the repeatable precision that you have come to trust Wood-Mizer for.

We also know that sawmills are often bought with decade’s worth of savings – that sawmillers in Africa deserve the best technology that money can buy, at the best possible price.

This is where we use our engineering skills and experience to deliver equipment, blades, and spares that last – and then we reduce the costs even more by supplying all of this closest to where you cut.

Robotic welders provide for repeatable precision that small-scale sawmill manufacturers can’t match.

Dealer network
Wood-Mizer’s dealer network stretches across +30 countries in Africa alone, our dealer network in +100 countries globally adding further reach to our ability to sell, service, and maintain your Wood-Mizer wherever you’re cutting.

Sawmillers now have access to expert and local after-sales-service centers that can assist to maintain machines, supply spares, and blades, train and educate, and advise on how to grow your business into the future.

Our ability to supply spares wherever you’re cutting in Africa saves you time, money, and effort with less downtime meaning more time to cut and produce profits.

We don’t just promise good service – our service network in Africa already delivers the aftercare sawmillers rely on to run successful sawmilling businesses

Dealerships across Africa delivers the after-sales support sawmillers on the continent deserve.

Commitment
Our commitment to excellence is not built on empty promises.

Wood-Mizer’s experience, know-how, range, and service are the result of years of sticking to what we do best – cutting timber.

We understand Africa, and we also respect its sawmillers to not promise what we can’t deliver.

Proof of Wood-Mizer’s commitment to Africa is our 10th anniversary in 2021 after becoming a fully owned subsidiary of Wood-Mizer Industries.

Add to that our presence in Africa since 1987, before we became a subsidiary of our global parent, Wood-Mizer has been there for sawmillers in Africa for almost three decades already!

That’s no empty promise.

Wood-Mizer’s commitment to sawmillers like David and Rosalina Letsoala from Mankweng in South Africa’s Limpopo Province has allowed their sawmill to prosper.
