Alstor premiere: First harvester with roller-fed head!

Step-fed harvester heads have been the standard for Alstor’s popular range of smaller, stand-mounted forestry machines.
At Elmia Wood 2025, they are presenting for the first time a roller-fed head developed by Kieto Forest.

– We know that our step-fed units deliver. But we are still often asked if there are no roller-fed units. Now we were ready to take that step. Kieto’s head has belt rollers that work incredibly well. The head is available for our new harvesters and our combi machine, says Kristian Laurell at Alstor.

It is full speed in the stand when Kristian receives.

– “It’s fantastic to be back here. There is a constant flow and lots of fun conversations with our customers, he says.

Traditionally, Alstor’s focus has been on the self-employed forest owner who wants a small, efficient forestry machine.

– We still have our core customer group there. With our 840 series, which came out a few years ago, we saw that arborists and other professional segments became interested. And now with the 850 series we are taking another step and obviously appealing to pure production teams that run thinning. We are broadening our range without losing our focus on stock-handling, gentle machines.

The Swedish market dominates, but a lot is also exported:

– To the other Nordic countries, of course, Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria and Hungary. But Canada is also coming on strong now too.

And after this year’s Elmia Wood, Kristian has a clear picture:

– “We are really good at building forestry machines in the Nordic region. There are so many examples here of us working together to drive international development.
