Ponsse strengthens it foothold on South Africa

Since 2020, Ponsse’s partnership with its South African dealer, MTS, has increased the brand’s presence in the region. Ponsse and MTS have stood out by placing customer satisfaction at the core of their operations in the highly competitive world of forestry equipment.

W hile advanced technology and innovative products are essential in the industry, the human element often makes all the difference. MTS understands this philosophy. Their unwavering commitment to maintaining strong customer relationships and providing exceptional support has earned them a reputation that sets them apart.

Ponsse’s sales in South Africa and neighbouring countries have seen remarkable growth in new equipment. This growth is not just in numbers but also in customers’ trust in the brand. Existing customers have renewed their equipment, a sign that they believe in the product and are confident about the enduring relationship with Ponsse and MTS.

In an industry where downtime can be costly, and every minute of productivity counts, the assurance of prompt service and parts availability is invaluable. MTS has excelled in after-sales support, earning the trust of its customers, who rely on their equipment for their livelihoods.

The Ponsse factory is producing six new machines daily, and it has announced an impressive lineup of 18 new products to be introduced in the coming months. These innovations span a wide range of forestry equipment, from forwarders to harvesting heads and everything in between.

New H7HD Eusa Head
An exciting addition to the Ponsse product family for the South

African market is the new H7HD Euca harvesting head. It is purpose-designed for track-based machines and has the Ponsse HH360 rotator that allows the harvester head to rotate a full and unlimited 360 degrees without twisting its hoses.

This technology is a game-changer, significantly reducing downtime due to broken hoses, a common issue in the past with inexperienced operators. With the H7HD Euca harvesting head, forestry professionals can expecting increased uptime and greater efficiency in their operations.

PONSSE Mommoth
The Ponsse Mammoth has an impressive 25-ton payload capacity and is increasingly gaining traction in the global forestry sector. It offers exceptional fuel economy and boasts higher productivity than other forwarders in its class. Its arrival in South Africa provides forestry professionals with a robust and sustainable solution for their operations. , further strengthening Ponsse’s reputation in the region.

Strength through Sub-dealers
MTS is based in Mbombela, Mpumalanga. This province, KwaZulu-Natal, the Eastern Cape and Southern Cape are the country’s forestry centres. MTS appointed a network of sub-dealers to assist it and Ponsse in providing state-of-the-art equipment and service. The sub-dealers are in Mkhondo in Mpumalanga, Empangeni and Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu Natal, and George in the southern Cape.

Ponsse, MTS and the sub-dealers believe the future of South Africa’s forestry industry is promising. They reiterate their commitment to maintaining strong customer relationships and providing exceptional support.
