One of the world’s most trusted ecolabels, Global Green Tag, has been awarded to Vacsol® Azure® – a metal-free light organic solvent wood preservative which provides environmental advantages over its predecessor solvent-based wood preservative products.
Global Green Tag is a third party, green product rating and certification system that is underpinned by scientific and life cycle assessment processes. It is recognised by leading green building programmes worldwide, including the Green Building Council of South Africa. The Green Tag was created as a tool to cut through the greenwash and empower professionals and consumers alike to confidently choose products that have been made in the most planet-friendly way possible.
“Our decision to obtain Green Tag certification was primarily to provide our customers with another layer of confidence and credibility through the trusted Green Tag brand mark,” says JJ du Plessis, senior regional sales manager for Arxada, trading as Arch Wood Protection South Africa.
Global Green Tag’s testing determined the risk of Vacsol® Azure® to be low throughout the product life cycle and that it met the Health & Ecotoxicity and Corporate Social Responsibility requirements – thereby verifying all marketing environmental claims.
Du Plessis concludes, “Ethics and transparency are core for Arxada, so having our marketing and risk mitigation claims backed by Global Green Tag reflects our commitment to sustainability. We feel honoured to have been recognised for our environmental leadership in wood treatment and are proud to have our brand associated with Global Green Tag”.
